South Australian ClubsAt Toastmasters, members learn by speaking within groups and working with others in a supportive learning environment. A typical Toastmasters Club is made up of 20-30 members who meet on a regular basis. Worldwide, Toastmasters has more than 200,000 members who come from a variety of occupations and backgrounds. With more than 10,000 clubs, there is sure to be one near you. You can attend meetings as a guest before making up your mind as to which club to join. Clubs look forward to guests visiting and will receive you warmly. There is no compulsion to participate in any of the planned activities if you do not want to. A member of the club will be assigned to personally look after you. You can attend several clubs if you like! You can go along to as many meetings as you like before deciding. Clubs may ask you if you would like to join each time you attend, but you can take your own time before deciding. The sooner you join, the sooner you begin to gain the benefits of Toastmasters membership! The length of meetings depends on the Club! Most clubs meet in the evenings but corporate clubs may meet over an hour at lunch. Some clubs meet in the early morning at the start of the day. Clubs provide coffee and tea facilities whilst some clubs include a dining option. Before you visit a club, it is always best to contact its membership co-ordinator. How much will it cost me?There is a once only joining fee of $US20-00 plus semi-annual fees of US$27-00. Most clubs will ask for a small additional charge to cover membership, venue hire and refreshments. If you join between the months where semi-annual fees are payable you pay a pro-rata amount. Some clubs have dinner meetings that incur an additional cost. Check with the club for details of their charges.
